Help

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our safari tours

What should I bring for a safari?

We recommend bringing sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, camera with zoom lens, comfortable clothing (neutral colors preferred), insect repellent, and water bottle. Binoculars are optional but enhance the experience. We provide seating and safety equipment in our jeeps.

Is hotel pickup included in the packages?

Yes! All our packages include pickup from your hotel or accommodation in the specified starting location (Coastal areas or Ella). We also provide drop-off at your destination. Please inform us of your exact location when booking.

Are safaris safe for families with children?

Absolutely! Safaris are safe for all ages when conducted with experienced guides. Our drivers are trained professionals who prioritize safety while ensuring an exciting experience. Children often find safaris educational and thrilling. We maintain safe distances from wildlife at all times.

What is the best time to visit Yala and Udawalawe?

Yala National Park is best visited from February to July, as it closes in September-October for maintenance. Udawalawe is open year-round, but the dry season (May to September) offers the best wildlife viewing as animals gather around water sources. Early morning safaris (6-10 AM) provide the highest chances of wildlife sightings.

How long does a safari typically last?

Each safari session lasts approximately 3 hours within the national park. The full day tour includes travel time between locations (coastal areas, Ella, and the parks), making it a complete day experience. We provide rest stops and photo opportunities along the scenic routes.

What wildlife can I expect to see?

In Yala, you can see leopards (highest density in the world), elephants, sloth bears, deer, crocodiles, and over 200 bird species. Udawalawe is famous for large elephant herds (200+), water buffalo, crocodiles, and diverse birdlife. While wildlife sightings can never be 100% guaranteed, our expert guides maximize your chances.
